Pat is a Senior Advisor to Avantis Investors® having formerly served as Chief Operating Officer. In this role, Pat provides valuable guidance and feedback in setting the strategic direction for the firm.

Prior to Avantis Investors' establishment in 2019, Pat served as Chief Operating Officer of Dimensional Fund Advisors ("DFA"), including all of their subsidiary companies globally, from 2003 through 2017. As Chief Operating Officer, Pat oversaw DFA’s day to day business as well as managing growth plans and capital investment. Prior to that, Pat was Chief Executive Officer, Executive Vice President and Director of Assante Capital Management as it became a public company. He was also Chief Executive Officer of Loring Ward, a wealth management business based in San Jose, CA. Pat earned a BA in Economics from the University of Winnipeg, Canada. He is a CPA (Canada), a CFA Charterholder and member of the CFA Institute.
